Dr. John N. Aucott, infectious Disease Specialist, the corporate founder, has over ten years experience in the research and practice of Lyme disease. During the past five years, Dr. Aucott has focused exclusively on developing a regionally recognized and highly respected Lyme disease referral clinic in Maryland and has treated over 500 patients with acute and chronic symptoms. With his specialized experience, he has seen first-hand how debilitating this disease can be on previously healthy and vibrant individuals.
Dr. Aucott has collaborated with internationally known Lyme disease researchers at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He has published original research work centered on the diagnosis of Lyme disease. Dr. Aucott has lectured through programs sponsored by Johns Hopkins Divisions of Medicine and Infectious Diseases, the American College of Physicians, and other major medical centers in Maryland.
The Foundation’s headquarters and clinical facilities --state-of-the-art facilities for patient care -- are located at Johns Hopkins at Green Spring Station, 10755 Falls Road, Suite 200, Lutherville, Maryland 21093; Diagnostic testing will be conducted at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland.
Curriculum Vitae
Dr. John Aucott, a native of California, graduated Phi Beta Kappa with honors and great distinction from the University of California at Berkeley. He came to Baltimore in 1980 to study medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine where he graduated with the Longcope Award for excellence in internal medicine and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honors society. His training in medicine and infectious diseases was completed at University Hospitals of Cleveland, where he served as Medical Chief Resident. Thereafter, Dr. Aucott joined the faculty at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine where his scholarly work was recognized with his promotion to Associate Professor of Medicine.
In 1996, Dr. Aucott returned to Baltimore where he has joined the Faculty of Medicine at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. His career has focused on the rapidly growing problem of Lyme disease in the United States. He has established a nationally recognized referral clinic for the care of patients with Lyme disease and its complications. In his clinic, Dr. Aucott has personally evaluated over 500 patients with suspected Lyme disease. He has conducted clinical research in collaboration with scientists at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. This research on the diagnosis and epidemiology of Lyme disease has been published in scholarly journals.
Dr. Aucott is the founder of the Lyme Disease Research Foundation of Maryland, a public not for profit foundation focused on the problems of diagnosis and treatment Lyme disease. He has established research collaborations with senior scientists at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and the Bloomberg School of Public Health and has embarked on an ambitious program to understand and help individuals affected by Lyme disease.

Terral Jordan is a private investor with interest in healthcare companies. He was a Managing Director of T. Rowe Price Threshold Partnerships, a venture fund investing in emerging technology companies, for two decades. Previously he managed a specialty chemical business and handled mergers and acquisitions for FMC Corporation. He received an MBA, MS, and BS degrees
from University of Virginia.
Dale Mathias is the co-founder of GlobeVest LLC, an emerging market private equity fund-of-funds based in Washington, DC. Previously, Dale was an officer of three private equity funds and has advised many investment partnerships here and in Western Europe. She was an Associate Dean of Columbia Business School for more than seven years. She holds a Series 22 securities license and has a B.A. from Harvard University. She serves as a member of the Board of the Dean’s Advisors of the Harvard Business School.
Decatur H. Miller is a Partner Emeritus of DLA Piper. He was formerly Managing Partner and Chairman of Piper & Marbury, its predecessor firm. Mr. Miller is active in civic, educational and cultural affairs, having chaired the boards of the Enoch Pratt Free Library, the Greater Baltimore Committee, the Baltimore Symphony, CollegeBound Foundation, and Calvert School, and served on many other boards.
Adena W. Testa is of counsel with the Baltimore law firm of Stewart, Plant & Blumenthal, which specializes in estate planning, estates and trusts administration, and charitable giving. She is listed in Best Lawyers in America and was elected to the Circle of Excellence of Maryland’s Top 100 Women. Ms. Testa is a trustee of Johns Hopkins University where she serves on the Executive Committee and chairs the Committee on Academic Affairs. Ms. Testa is the chair emerita and past president of the board of trustees of the Walters Art Museum. She received a JD degree with honors (Order of the Coif) from the University of Maryland School of Law and a BS degree from Johns Hopkins University.
