The Johns Hopkins Lyme Disease Clinical Research Center was founded by a gift from the Lyme Disease Research Foundation. The mission of the Center is to continue our patient-based research into all the varied manifestations of Lyme disease and to find better diagnostic and prognostic tests to improve the care of patients.
Lyme disease makes hundreds of thousands of people sick every year; it is the most commonly reported tick-borne infection in the United States. Children are especially hard-hit by Lyme disease with the highest in incidence among children between the ages of 5 to 14.
